I have been active as a clarinet teacher for over 10 years in addition to a versatile career as a performer in chamber, orchestral and contemporary music. I have helped students audition for youth orchestras, solo with their jazz band, and find their ideal clarinet tone. I work individually with each student to discover and accomplish their goals while sharing in and encouraging their passion for music. My broad experience in music allows me to not only teach foundational clarinet technique but deepen your experience and understanding of the wealth of great music written for the clarinet. Whether you are a budding young clarinetist, an adult picking up the clarinet as a hobby or an advanced high school student preparing for college auditions I have the experience and flexibility of a conservatory trained active performer to guide you towards your goals and discover what's next.

I received a Bachelor of Music from Oberlin Conservatory in clarinet performance and a Master of Arts and Doctorate of Musical Arts from UC San Diego. I also have experience in teaching music theory, history and sound production in classroom settings.
